Our Patrons

Ben Langley

Ben Langley is a Norfolk-based comedian, actor, writer and director who has worked alongside some of the industry’s most respected names, including Joe Pasquale, Cannon & Ball, Su Pollard, Mackenzie Crook, Derek Griffiths and Plácido Domingo. One of the county’s hardest-working variety performers, Ben regularly appears at Haven resorts, on Disney Cruise Line ships, and across the corporate circuit. He is also a fly-out act for TUI Holiday Villages and TUI Sensatori resorts throughout Europe.

He is perhaps best known for his appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, where he wowed the judges with his misheard lyrics routine — a performance that has since amassed over 30 million views on YouTube.

A hugely experienced live performer, Ben has played the comic role in more than 20 pantomimes and, for the past seven years, was the resident comic in the Hippodrome Circus Christmas Spectacular in Great Yarmouth.

I am absolutely delighted to be asked to be a patron for this righteous charity.

I am astonished to know that Tom and the team work tirelessly not only to spread awareness and to educate folk but to support the patients and their families affected by testicular cancer and I realise this all comes at a cost.

I look forward to being a voice and doing what I can to raise awareness for you all and to offer my services and skills where needed so funds can be raised and people’s comfort and understanding through challenging times can be managed.

Joe Crowley

Avid Norwich City fan and former Hewett School pupil, Joe Crowley has been a reporter for The One Show on BBC1 for several years, reporting from across the country as well as appearing live in the studio. He recently co-presented the second series of Holiday Hit Squad for BBC1 alongside Angela Rippon and Helen Skelton, and also presents the BBC series Britain’s Empty Homes and Bloody Tales for National Geographic and Channel 5.

“I am honoured to be Patron of this fantastic local charity. I’m incredibly impressed by everything It’s On The Ball has achieved in its first year, responding to the need to raise awareness locally but also giving invaluable support to those diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. I was really stuck by the success rate of treating this cancer if it’s caught early so I’m very keen to work with It’s On The Ball to raise awareness and help save lives. There’s no time for guys to be shy about this; they must check themselves regularly and we need to shout this message from the rooftops, in the street and on the football terraces!”

Testicular Cancer is the most common form of cancer in young men. If detected early enough, treatment is successful in over 95% of cases. The key message is for men to check themselves for anomalies regularly, and to seek medical advice if they have any concerns.
