Throughout 2025 we have been incredibly lucky to have been ‘Charity of the Year’ for Roys of Wroxham Department Store, Garden Centre, DIY and Toys.
It’s On The Ball is absolutely thrilled and deeply grateful to Roys customers and staff for their generous fundraising efforts, which have raised vital funds to support the charity’s life-saving work.
The money raised will be used to fund It’s On The Ball’s awareness talk programme, provide tailored Support Packs for patients undergoing chemotherapy, and offer financial grants to individuals in need on a case-by-case basis.
Over the past few years, It’s On The Ball has delivered awareness talks to more than 30,000 people in schools, colleges, and workplaces, spreading its crucial message that monthly checking can save lives. With no national screening programme for testicular cancer, early detection relies entirely on individuals knowing what to look for and checking themselves regularly.
Testicular cancer most commonly affects young men aged 15 to 35 and is the most common cancer in this age group. While 95% of cases are successfully treated, this is only possible when the disease is detected early. During its awareness talks, the charity educates audiences about the signs and symptoms of testicular cancer, encouraging monthly checks for any changes in size, lumps, swellings, or firmness. Anyone noticing a change is advised to contact their GP immediately.

In addition to education, It’s On The Ball provides tailored Support Packs to individuals receiving chemotherapy. These packs help patients manage treatment side effects while maintaining comfort and dignity during hospital stays. Items include strong mints, ginger biscuits, and squash to combat dry mouth and metallic taste, anti-bacterial soft toothbrushes to reduce the risk of mouth infections, lip salve, and comfort items such as puzzle books and pyjamas to support mental wellbeing.

Thanks to the generosity of Roys customers and staff, It’s On The Ball can continue delivering its vital awareness and support programmes, helping more people recognise symptoms early and supporting patients through treatment.
