When I met Vince he had already had testicular cancer once and so the word ‘cancer’ was part of our lives together right from the beginning. We knew we were fortunate and that every day was special.
In 2009, Vince noticed a small lump on his testicle and straight away we agreed he should go to the Doctor. We had our fingers crossed, but I think we both knew deep down that it was testicular cancer again so we weren’t too surprised when this was confirmed. It was hard to see Vince square his shoulders ready to go through surgery and treatment again but we were both determined that it wasn’t going to be a big deal and we weren’t going to let it beat us!
The experience has made us even more determined to appreciate our lives and the opportunities we have, and that is why we are so keen to be a part of It’s On The Ball and raise awareness as well as offer support to others.
